What if The Insurance Company Is Still Contacting Me After I Hire You?

From the moment I hire you following an accident, what is your role with the insurance company?

As your lawyer, I would manage all contact with the insurance company, all communication, and then negotiate with them on the release of the medical records and other information that they need. I would help request the medical records on my own or if they need it sign a release to limit the release. I would handle any discussions as to the amount that are at issue and make a demand.

That would be improper. I would tell them not to contact you and tell them to deal with me directly. If they want to have a telephone conference with you, I would request a certain time and be available to be there with you at that time.

Once you’ve hired counsel, they can no longer contact you directly.
