Bill Ginn is an associate of Leverty & Associates Law, Chtd. Mr. Ginn’s practice focuses primarily on insurance litigation and insurance regulatory work. Mr. Ginn’s trial practice is focused on complex civil litigation with an emphasis on disputes related to insurance. He also counsels clients in insurance regulatory compliance and represents both individuals and insurance companies in administrative proceedings before the Nevada Division of Insurance.
Mr. Ginn obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History with an emphasis in Philosophy from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington. While at Whitworth, he was a captain on the rugby team, the head photographer for the yearbook, and the sports photographer for the college newspaper. He received his Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) from Willamette University School of Law, in Salem, Oregon. While in law school, Mr. Ginn received the prestigious Butler Scholarship, helped in founding the Internet Law Caucus, and represented indigent clients as a part of the civil practice clinic.
Mr. Ginn is admitted to practice in all Nevada state courts and the United States District Court for the State of Nevada. He is a member of the American Association for Justice and the Nevada Justice Association and is on the City of Reno Pro Tem Judge list. He is currently the Treasurer for the Nevada State Bar Section for Insurance and Health Care Law and is the former Membership Chairman for the Nevada State Bar Section for Insurance and Health Care Law.
Since joining Leverty & Associates in July 2000, Mr. Ginn has co-authored several articles including “The Age of Internet and Direct Response Automobile Insurance Is Here, So How Do Insurers Comply with the Nevada Insurance Laws and Regulations?” published in the Federation of Regulatory Counsel Journal, Fall 2001 issue and “Full Disclosure of Producer Compensation: the Cheapest E&O Insurance” in the Federation of Regulatory Counsel Journal, Winter 2008 issue.
Growing up in the Seattle area, Bill learned to love the outdoors, through playing soccer, skiing, and boating. This love of the outdoors has continued into adulthood. When he isn’t working, Bill can be found spending time with his family, skiing, kayaking, bicycling, hiking or fishing in the great outdoors around Reno. When the weather isn’t nice, he can be found curled up with a good book. He is also the Cub Master for Cub Scout Pack 10, has coached several successful youth soccer teams over the years, and is involved in the local PFA.
